Today was a beautiful day! We spent it as a family on a field trip to The Detroit Science Center!

We saw the IMAX movie NASCAR which the kids really enjoyed and we also saw the Monster Trucj exhibit where the girls got to sitin the Monster Truck, The Grave Digger. The exhibit showe the inner workings of an engine and taught intertia as well. Th kids had fun coloring.

On the other levels the kids enjoyed lifiting a 1000 pound weight, exploring the human body, the dangers of drugs, the properties of water and sounds as well, and much much more!

Click here to listen to a Birthday Song Just For Dad!

Today Joe turned 30!!

Unfortunately he had to go to work but that didn't stop us from celebrating! The kids and I made daddy the center of attention at his job by bringing by a nice big cake for him and his co-workers along with several balloons so they'd all know it was his birthday and just how old he is now!

Of course they didn't know it was his birthday until we stopped by but that's what was fun about it!

All in all we had a great day, even daddy!

Today we took the kids to the Cranbrook Science Museum. They had fun seeing the dinosaure bone and the life science displays. Rachel enjoys looking at the insect collection and Sariah loved the computers. Mason learned more about dinosaurs, which he's decided he is "into". Liam wasn't much trouble and Kaden had fun just seeing new things.

Rachel also learned a lot about the mastadon and the part the kids loved the most was the fog room.

We became members of the ASTC and now have a passport to close to 270 museums nationwide for the entire year. We will be taking advantage of this for the next year but especially this summer.

Liam is growing so fast and he is learning new words everyday!!

Right now we are trying to get Liam to say "yes" when we ask him if he wants something. Right now all he says is "NO" and then does the little excited dance which is really cute, but he gets mad because we won't give it to him until he says "yah". We are doing everything we can and hopefully soon he'll start getting it!

Liam's new favorite activity is jumping off things. The problem is that he can't land on his feet! He just kind of tucks his legs under his butt and falls on his knees. It look incredibly painful but he LOVES doing it!!

Liam is also into being read to! He loves pulling a book off the shelf and cuddling and reading. His favorite book is the one with all the animals. His favorite picture is of the giraffe with it's tougne sticking out!

Liam also likes watching daddy get ready in the bathroom every morning. One of dad's rituals is to run his head under the water in the sink to comb out any bed head. Liam's picked this up and when no one is watching then he likes going into the bathroom and turning the water on and sticking HIS head under the water too! It is so funny but messy! It's one reason we usually have the faucets main pipes turned off!

The picture is of Liam after his head bath he gives himself!

Some days are just really hard on a baby!

Today Sariah starts the first day of her grounding. It's her first official grounding too. It's going to be a long week! She's not allowed outside to play and she's especially grounded from the TV because lately she has been overly involved with the TV instead of her other duties and chores. Even after I've turned the TV off she'll go off and find soething else to do instead of her chores, like her camera that plays video games. So her privleges have been taken away!

I hope we acn both get through this. Rachel and Mason are kind of stuck too now because they can't go outside without Sariah, I won't let them, but they can play on our front porch and Sariah can't.

MotherMother

Yes it is Mother's day!

I woke up to the sounds of my kids coming in to my bedroom all wishing me a happy mothers day. The girls worked fast to draw me pictures of the family. Mason even got in on it and drew me a few pictures too. Joe made us a nice breakfast of pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, and bacon. We had family bed time as we all gathered in our bed and just cuddled, chatted and had fun with some tickle fights and seeing how many kids could pile on daddy.

Soon it was time to get ready for church and work. I dropped Joe off at work and proceeded to church early with the 5 little ones in tow, taking the longest route so the boys could get a little nap in. We were able to make it through sacrament but not the talks. I ended up out in the foyer with the kids. Liam ran off and ended up finding the light switches to the chapel and ended up having some fun turning the lghts off and on. I didn't realize that he was the one doing this until a Brother brought him over to me. Stupid me thought the lights were IN the chapel not in the hall in a little "cove" at toddler level! Whose bright idea was that one now?! He didn't even need a chair to reach them!!

Sariah and Rachel actually got up and sang with the primary for the first time!! I was so excited that they did it this year. The other years they chickend out and I was sad. So I was happy that I got to hear them sing to me this year!

Soon it was time for class, and I got Liam and Mason into nursery. The girls off to their class and Kaden and I hung out in the foyer as I waited to hear Liam stop crying so I'd know he was OK. With Joe working Sunday's now he can't be in the nursery with the boys anymore so it was Liam's first nursery class without dad. Mason was there but Mason wasn't much help. Soon Liam stopped crying and one of the Bretheren came out to inform me that Liam had fallen asleep. The now obviously aparent reason why he had stopped crying now. About 5 minutes later someone else comes out to inform me that now Mason has fallen asleep yet again in class as well. (Mason does not do well in social situations and whenever Joe isn't in class with them he tends to just curl up in a corner and fall asleep)

Not too much longer Kaden was showing his signs of tiredness and was soon fast asleep in my arms as well. It was soon quiet and I was finding myself forcing my eyelids open as I fought the desire to fall asleep too.

Finally church was over and I was presented with all the special gifts the kids made in their classes. Mason actually woke up and joined in the activities and made the best gift of a framed white hand print on construction paper with a nice white border. I loved it! I was disappointed Liam slept through it :( . The girls made little cards and drew me pictures of our family all day long.

We came home changed and I started dinner. Then gathered the kids up and headed over to go pick Joe up from work. Came home and we all ate dinner, and I finally was able to relax a little.

And that is how my Mother's day went. Oh and I never got around to taking ANY Pictures!

Sariah lost yet another tooth! We are having fun with her new toothless smile! :D

She unfortunately woke up to find the Tooth Fairy forgot to stop by. I guess the Tooth Fairy's alarm didn't go off and she slept in a little. Luckily Sariah wasn't too disappointed and later in the day when she went to put her tooth back under her pillow she found that the tooth fairy stopped by while she was playing!

Sariah was more than thrilled!!

I can't believe it is May already!!

Today Joe started Gardner White full time now. It hard to have him work 12 hou days and a few days out of the week he'll be going to Wal-Mart too so we'll see him even less. But it's what we need to do to keep our family afloat right now.

Kaden is crawling around more and more and is getting faster! Even though it is an army crawl too. He still can't sit up well, LOL. Still is not sleeping through the night yet either. He is rolling around a lot more though too, and is starting to hold his own bottle more.

Sariah is on the verge of losing yet another tooth and she is getting very proficient at riding her 2 wheeler bike!
