Ok this has not been a good day let alone a good MONDAY!!

We said farewell to Mason and Sariah, Joe went back to work today and I got to make a visit to the ER with Kaden!

Rachel went to play outside and I decided it was anice enough day to leave the doors open. WRONG! Well any ways Liam starts opening and shutting the screen porch door. Kaden was near by and well at one point Kaden got his thumb stuck somewhere in that door and SLAM Liam got him and it tore some skin off his left thumb.

I brought them inside and scolded Liam for playing with the door. Apparently I deserve the bad mommy award this week because obviously the scolding wasn't good enough. He started playing with the door again and Kaden did the same damn thing!

Difference this time . . .Kaden managed to rip his entire left thumb nail off his thumb! He came in and I saw blood at first and thought he just scraped it more again, but then the nail caught my eye as it was now on his knuckle! I grabbed some tissue and just squeezed his thumb in my hand.

Now I had to go screaming out the door to Rachel down the street so we can go to the ER. Liam was in just a diaper and I had JUST put Jaylen down for a nap, something she has not had enough of and her schedule was all screwed up with the in-law visit so this was supposed to be a drama free week!

She came in and helped get Liam dressed while I gathered the "diaper bag" (aka my purse) once liam was dressed and had shoes on I got Kaden in the van and had Rachel take over in holding Kaden's thumb while I grabbed Jaylen. I first grabbed the phone and called Joe who just started work 30 minutes prior to my frantic call, so I got a hold of him on the way out the door literally because I was talking to him while buckling Jaylen in and just put the phone in the van and took off for the hospital!

Kaden didn't have shoes on so once we got to the hospital I had to put Jaylen in the sling and then carry Kaden across the parking lot to the ER. Note this is his first ever trip to the hospital or ever seeing a doctor because he was birthed at home and we don't do well baby visits. He was crying almost the entire time. Once we got checked in, which was fairly fast, he kind of fell asleep in the wheelchair.

My husband made it to the ER in record time because I had just gotten there and was in the triage when he showed up. I was able to pass off the baby and the other 2 kids and finally deal with just Kaden. I had him take the other kids home.

The doctor was really freindly and nice and ordered an x-ray to make sure it wasn't broken. I already knew it wasn't but took him to the ER to make sure he'd be alright. Nails coming off is just not for me, believe it or not. It just makes me squeemish! I can handle just about anything but I've found nail loss and face lift surgeries are not for me, they make me - blech!

Well this is gettin long - so to shorten this boring story, his thumb wasn't broken, he got stickers, antibiotic ointment and a bandaid, and he even got his car back. LOL He had a hot wheel car that he got stuck in the heater and the doctor was kind enough to actually tweeze it out for him!

Now I have to make dinner! What sucked the most was that I hadn't pumped before I left so by the time I got around to pumping it had been 12 hours from my last pump, so I was full and uncomfortable and sore.

But all is well now. He's napping on the couch double bandaged. He should start getting a nail back in about 4-6 weeks she said, and to just keep it clean. That seems impossible when you have a toddler boy! I also need to watch for signs of infection.

Upside is when I got home Sariah and Mason called to tel us they landed in New York already. They both did well on the plane ride, but Mason was a bit more scared than Sariah. Their Abuelo (grandfather) has this week off still so he'll be spoiling them rotten. Mason will be milking them for every penny they have, roflol! I even heard him over the phone asking to go to McDonalds!

Ok now I need to go and destress some! I't almost 7pm now, I still need a shower, I need to clean up because Joe came home and got the baby to sleep and then he fell asleep himself so now the place is wrecked because Liam is a wrecking crew even without his Kaden accomplice!

Time for some ice cream and a bubble bath. . .LATER though!

The first 2 are of his thumb and me trying to get a good pic while she slept in the wheelchair. It's nasty!

You can see I tried to keep him busy with stickers, that he didn't have his shoes on and his feet are filthy, and he's antsy because there isn't much to do in hospital rooms. Although at one point a baby was crying and he perked up thinking it was Jaylen and wanted us to go help the baby that was crying. Either he has one strong pain threshhold or the motrin they gave him was spiked with something, because he was happy go lucky after a bit in the room alone with me. He played with the stickers, a car I dug out of my purse and a stretchy bug that was left over from the Chuck E Cheese visit 2 days ago.

Man I am tired. I still have a good 4-5 hours before Joe gets home from work now.
