Yesterday we noticed Mason's eye was swollen. We thought he had a black eye but he said he didn't do anything to it, but that it was itchy. Apparently he has a mosquito bite on his eyelid which with scratching has caused it to swell significantly.
There's not much we can do or safely do that close to the eye. We've only been adding cucumber slices to it to help with the swelling and believe it or not, this picture is after a cucumber treatment and after some reduction in swelling!
You can kind of see some other moswuito bites on his cheek and forehead too, but there are other hidden ones on that side of his face as well. They left the window open 2 nights ago because it was cool out and the consequences resulted in multiple bites on poor Mason's face.
Liam has one on his fore head that looks like a goose egg because he scratches it too. We have ointments and creams for the itching but it doesn't always stop them from scratching.

So the other day the kids decided to do a circus. Never mind the fact that it's always a circus around here. So I let them take the camera and document their Circus Adventures of the day.
I gotta say it was one of those really beautifully gorgeous days too. I laid outside on the deck and watched them perform and snap pictures.
I'll assume Kaden was in his underwear as a "costume", and you can assume that too! :D

I finally finished the Family Reunion Video. It's a double length of 10mins 20secs but I think it turned out great thanks to all of the wonderful pictures. I still think I am missing some pictures from people, but oh well.
BTW if anything is misspelled - sorry, but I am NOT going back and changing it now. This was a PITA to do.
I hope you all enjoy it, even though it is lengthy!

Happy 5th birthday Liam Joseph!
Be sure to check out his birth story!
For a birthday boy, he was quite generous and loving towards his siblings. I have pictures but have been swamped with a lot of computer work as well as resting, shopping, chores, and so much more.
The pictures are uploaded I just need to publish them to the web and post them, so keep an eye out as they will be up before the end of the week. I promise.

So on Tuesday my blood count was 9980. Thursday's count was 1673 which is very much related to the miscarriage I had on Wednesday.
We do have the go ahead to continue with our plans to try and conceive again in October.
While I am saddened by this outcome I am very much at peace and okay with it. I think deep down I knew it wasn't meant to be for quite sometime.

There is no more doubt or hope. We indeed miscarried today at about 1am.
I have a blood draw for tomorrow and a Doctor appointment for Friday. I'll update then.

So the not knowing WTH was going on left me with the resolve to head to the ER to get thte U/S done and the HCG count.
I tried watching the u/s screen but you know how they are at this stage, tight lipped and they avoid things. I saw gestational sacs and thought maybe blighted ovum.
Since she was saying she couldn't say anything I figured I lost the baby.
So then the doctor came in and was kind of upbeat and said that they did see a 5 week gestational sac, and that my HCG levels were within normal range of a 5 week pregnancy at 9980.
I am stunned and utterly confused now that I didn't know what to say and couldn't formulate a question.
She did say that bleeding at 5 weeks was normal, but it could also mean that I was miscarrying. But that they couldn't do anything to prevent a miscarriage, well duh, but that wasn't my intention. I knew they couldn't stop it.
So I said - But I was supposed to be 10 weeks along.
And she just goes "Oh well then you are probably miscarrying. Sorry." And then leaves.
WTH!!!! I'm still trying to process all of this as it wasn't making ANY sense at all.
So here is my confusion:
U/S shows a 5 wk pregnancy
HCG count shows a 5 wk pregnancy (9980)
Calendar says should be 10 weeks.
So now if I lost the baby 5 weeks ago and have been bleeding for almost a week now, I don't get how my HCG count could still be at the 5 week level! A high level at that, IMHO. That to me makes no sense. Logically to me I think my HCG levels should have been below the 5 wk mark and not at par with it.
I do go in on Thursday to get my blood drawn again and that of course will tell us difinitively if I am truly pregnant and the #'s are increasing or decreasing.
If they are increasing then WTH happened to 5 weeks of my pregnancy?! LOL
Is it possible I was pregnant but lost it and it reabsorbed without a period because I am nursing and I just happened to O again an conceive 5 weeks later? That this bleeding is a normal period but that I'll stay pregnant (some women have period while pregnant) or is it that I am miscarrying?
So by Friday I will know one way or the other and hopefully the bleeding will have stopped by then.
Talk about freaky weird.
I can only guestimate another EDD based on the u/s to be April 21st-ish.
:irked: I am so confused and helpless.
The downside in all of this, is that if I am still pregnant I lost 5 weeks of it somewhere and just when I thought my baby looked like a baby, it's back to being a blob and having to grow limbs again! LOL

On August 16th we went to Grandpa Tiny's Farm . I found it while searching for some field trips for the Homeschooling groups and I was baffled at the location. They said they were across the street from Bronner's in Frankenmuth.
Now I've grown up in Michigan and going to Bronners and Frankenmuth was almost a yearly thing for us and I could not remember a tourist farm what so ever "across the street from Bronner's" All I coul ever remember was forests and just farm land - but no signs or tourist farms especially next to Bronner's.
So we got the directions and headed up and sure enough it was there. But it was more like "next door" to than "across the street". The next day when I talked to my mom I asked her about the farm and even she couldn't recall the farm I was talking about and she's gone to Frankenmuth and Bronner's more than I ever have. So I know I wasn't losing it! LOL
Any ways, it's a quaint little working petting farm. They have a one room school haus (as it is German) and a bunch of other neat things. It's a cheap trip and a fun family outing. We're planning a more extensive home schooling trip in September.

I am 8 weeks along already! Moving right along nice and fast it seems. YIKES!
So the other day Liam and Kaden were running round the house not paying attention to each other and they ran right into each other. Both started crying and complaining that the other hurt them "on purpose", when in actuality they hurt themselves and each other equally by running in the house and into each other for not watching where they were going, LOL.
Either way they both ended up with some nice twinned goose eggs on their foreheads.

Also, on Sunday we went to a picnic open house and Joe took this picture of the kids in the van all spread out, in appropriate carseats and no complaints of being squished anymore! Woo Hoo!

This is birthday month for us! Liam and Mom will be celebrating their birthdays. I can't believe Liam will be 5 already! Not long after, Evan will turn 1 year old already!
Evan is already walking! He's becming much more confident in walking around the house. He's still new at it and won't go more than 5-6 steps at most, but with the new push walker we got him (well it was used at a church rummage sale) he has enjoyed his new found freedom and increased confidence!
Evan also had his first tooth come through this past week. Evan sure is hitting a lot of milestones lately!
