There's a Method to My Chaos

Today was one of those lucky busy days. Granted Joe and I were exhausted when the day started, but we trudged through and dad a lot of cool things!
First was the church Fall Kick-Off Picnic, which had a BBQ, bounce house and slip & slide! The kids had a LOT of fun and we got to hang out with friends and chat.
Later we decided to skip going home since some of the bratty neighbor kids were out and we didn't feel like dealing with them. So we decided to go and get some batteries we needed. We headed to Kroger's which has a dollar store in the parking lot. As we turn in there is a HUGE "Family Fun Fair" going on and it is all FREE! Of course the kids see it and want to go and, hey, it's free so why not?!
So we skipped getting batteries, ok we forgot about them, and headed over t the Fair. The kids got to go on more bounce houses, do a obstacle course, andso much more. Sariah and Rachel rode rather large "ponies" (I think they were just small horses), and they had fun going off by themselves for a bit.
All the food was free with these punch cards they give you for everyone in the family. I didn't eat anything other than bites off the kids stuff here and there, and Joe wasn't hungry after the church picnic, so we had a lot of left over cards and food. The kids got cotton candy, sno cones, pop, hot dogs, popcorn, and chips. Not all of them ate or wanted everything though.
We spent about 2 hours doing everything and getting HOT in the sun. I even saw a few people I knew. It was a church sponsored event, so we did have to give them some information, but we just might have given them the old address and old phone number. I wasn't about to sell my soul for a free family fun day, LOL.

Today Evan turned 2!!!
I can hardly believe how fast the time has flown. I swear he was born yesterday! I know I was still breastfeeding him up until April!
On Evan's birthday we decided to just combine all of the past birthdays into one and celebrate as a family. So we spent the day doingall sorts of things!
First we had planned to go to a U-Pick farm but counldn't find one, as I lost the add that had several listed. Instead we went to a produce farm that had everything already picked and for sale. We picked up some fresh veggies to eat and then headed to Subway to pick up some Subs that we could in the park for a picnic.
We headed to the park closest to the Health Club so when we were done we could go swimming. We spent a few hours swimming and Evan even fell asleep and took a nap while we all swam.
After the pool, it was dinner time so we headed to a local restaurant that had 99¢ Kids day for Wednesday. They also had a balloonist and a face painter and a clown. It was a blast and I met another homeschooler to boot!
After dinner we headed home to gather all of the gear and extra food we'd need for the Drive-In movies, since Wednesday night was $10 car night! That saves us around $40 since typically it costs us close to $50 a van full! Plus we get 2 movies too!
So we really packed in a full day for Evan's birthday. We didn't do a cake because we usually get caked out by now. Usually we skip a cake for me, but Val and the girls made me one and we still had left overs. We did light a candle and have him blow it out from a Hostess Cupcake.
